1.) Pre-Apprentice & Apprenticeship Program

Offered through the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), the Pre-Apprentice and Apprenticeship Grant Program provides funding that enables employers to provide customized training developed according to their particular talent need. For more information, please refer to the Application Guide.


There are a variety of grants available through the PA Department of Labor and Industry. Some of them are listed below.

  • Business Education Partnership Grant

  • Economic Transition Grant

  • Teacher in the Workplace Grant

  • Next Generation Industry Partnership Grant

2.) Employer Specific Workshops

PA CareerLink® Lackawanna County partners with local agencies and providers to host worships on relevant topics for employers. Biannually we host an Unemployment Compensation Seminar Series so employers can learn more about the UC system, and have their questions answered face-to-face by a UC representative. The upcoming topics for 2019 are:

  • Relief from Charges: Thursday March 7th, 2019 at 8:30 am

  • Suitable Work and Overpayments: Tuesday May 14th, 2019 at 8:30 am
