The Extent of our Abilities
PA CareerLink® Lackawanna County is not the Unemployment Compensation office. Our staff administers UC programs, such as RESEA, and assists individuals in registering for the PA CareerLink® website to comply with UC requirements. None of our staff members are directly employed by the Office of Unemployment Compensation; therefore, our abilities are limited in answering your questions regarding UC matters. However, we will always do our best to guide you towards the best possible answers to your questions. Once a month we offer “Ask the UC Rep” sessions where you can meet privately with an Unemployment Compensation Representative to discuss your UC matters. Check out our calendar for upcoming dates and times.
Please refer to the Unemployment Compensation website for more information.
UC Courtesy Phones
We offer 3, on-site UC courtesy phones to better streamline your UC experience. These phones are a direct line to UC with little to no wait time to have your call answered by a UC Representative. However, you may experience some wait time if there is a line to use the phone. You can use these phones to file claims, reopen claims, get questions answered, etc. They are only operational during Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. However, you may call UC from home at 888-313-7284 on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Wednesdays from 12:00 pm to 6 pm (from now until February 2019), and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
You can also file an Inital UC Claim or file your Bi-weekly Claim online at www.uc.pa.gov.
